This is an account of the events in Troy up to the sacking of the town by the Achaeans and the departure of the armies. In this episode Odysseus speaks of his amorous encounters with Cassandra, the Trojan princess, as well as with Athena, the goddess who became his obsession and his protector throughout his tribulations.
It is interesting for he gives us a first glimpse into the character and nature of those beings that his contemporaries considered to be "gods".
